In April 2011, Integrated Recycling (IR) commissioned new extrusion equipment specifically designed to use post consumer polyethylene waste as its feed source for the ‘Envire®’ plastic cores ‐ the aim being to replace traditional cardboard cores used by our parent company Integrated Packaging in its stretch film production.
Using recycled plastic cores supports both Australian manufacturing and sustainability initiatives which are imperative for the both the social and physical environment.
Recycling plastic into ‘Envire®’ cores will result in less demand for paper cores. This must result in less timber being cut and processed and that will be good for the planet.
Plus they are stronger and more resilient than paper cores.
Integrated Recycling (IR) is a member of the Integrated Packaging Group and is the link that enables waste plastic to be recycled and recreated as engineered endurance products.
Our recycled plastic composite product now has a name, Envire®. Envire® represents both our commitment and passion for sustainable recycled plastic product solutions whilst tying together our Integrated Recycling (IR) identity.
The Envire® range of recycled plastic products consists of Decking, Cores, Posts, Sheets, Bollards and more which can all be used for a diverse range of purposes and in various/ challenging environments as timber, steel or concrete substitutes in agriculture, horticulture, aquaculture, landscaping, industry and a variety of everyday uses.
Mildura Regional Waste Management Group has been recognised for its efforts in recycling.
The group has been selected as a finalist in the 2010 Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria Tidy Towns - Sustainable Communities Awards. Representatives from Keep Australia Beautiful presented the Mildura Regional Waste Management Group with their finalist certificate in the Environmental Innovation category at Integrated Recycling.

The "Green Revolution" has taken a firmer foot-hold in the stock fencing industry, through technology developed in Mildura.
Integrated Recycling is turning agricultural waste products such as vine covers and grain bags into timber substitutes, including fence posts and rails that don't rot, splinter or fall to insect attack.

Integrated Recycling sources end of life materials from a wide variety of places, its principal source is from the agricultural sector. IR collects table grape vine covers, grain bags, suitable irrigation pipe and polystyrene from growers in the Sunraysia district.
IR also works closely with local industry, retailers and the Mildura landfill to take a variety of polyethylene and polystyrene based plastics for recycling into many timber replacement product applications in agriculture, horticulture, aquaculture, landscaping, industry and a variety of everyday uses.
IR also works with landfills throughout Victoria that separately stream plastics for recycling.
Integrated Recycling is an Australian owned company based in Mildura. Its ability to recycle a variety of plastics into a range of timber substitute products has significant local benefits:
- the reduction of material that would otherwise enter landfill
- by providing a safe, clean and environmentally responsible way to dispose of end of life material
- by retaining jobs in regional Victoria
- by limiting the carbon waste of exporting waste materials to China and other countries in South East Asia
Integrated Recycling is proud to present a Glow in the Dark Bollard that provides a simple, maintenance free, low cost way to illuminate outdoor areas.
The Glow in the Dark Bollard retains a low level glow for an extended period of up to 12 hours after being charged by the sun or ambient UV light.
The Glow in the Dark Bollard is useful to delineate roads and pathways, bike paths and sporting fields, work zones, and other outdoor areas. They can be used in or near water.
Coloured Bollards
IR also has a range of coloured bollards that are useful in industrial or factory areas to mark out areas, delineate pathways and protect equipment.
All of these bollards can be fitted over a standard IR round post and secured in the ground.
Integrated Recycling (IR) is a member of the Integrated Packaging Group and is the link that enables waste plastic to be recycled and recreated as engineered endurance products.
Our range of bollards, planks and decking are used for various outdoor purposes including park benches and tables, playground structures for children’s’ adventures and delineation of play areas, including "glow in the dark” bollards for low light or night time use.
IR's bollards are available in a variety of sizes both in square and round and can be drilled to fit a steel rod or chain, routed and made to receive a decorative or informative sign.
The bollards are available with a variety of tops, including domed (for round bollards) pyramid, sloping or flat and in three colours - earth brown, charcoal & enviro green.
We supply recycled plastic decking boards/ planks in a variety of dimensions and in lengths of 1000, 2100, 2400, 4800 and 6000 metres to suit any requirements.
Decking board products made from our patented recycled plastic composite mix will generally outlast those products traditionally made from wood. That is because the products are:
- Unaffected by extreme climates
- Rot resistant and have very low water absorption
- Non-leaching of contaminants beyond minimal detectable levels
- Suitable for sensitive marine environments
- Resistant to UV damage
- Immune to pests such as white ants
IR’s range of posts and stakes are ideal for fencing and crop support. There is an extensive range of posts, strainers and stays in a variety of profiles: round, square and rectangular. Fencing material made from IR's recycled plastic is easy to handle, non-toxic and washable, can be drilled, screwed and stapled, resists breakage and do not splinter. It is also lightweight and easily transportable, and ideal for electrified fencing. The posts can be treated like timber posts and installed using a pneumatic or hydraulic post driver and is aided by first water drilling the hole or using a mechanical post hole digger. We’re proud to alternatives to the traditional timber, metal and wire fencing products,’’ general manager Stephen Webster said .The fire resistance and maintenance-free qualities are also major benefits. This patented recycled plastic material has also been tested and proven to outlast those products traditionally made from wood.

Our range of bollards, planks and decking are used for various outdoor purposes including park benches and tables, playground structures for childrens’ adventures and delineation of play areas, including "glow in the dark” bollards for low light or night time use.
We have a range of outdoor furniture from benches to seats with backs with and without armrests; picnic tables; tables that cater for wheelchairs that can be bolted to a concrete slab or cemented into the ground.
Integrated Recycling is a member of the Integrated Packaging Group (IPG) and has recently introduced a pallet made from recycled plastic for the stacking and transporting of IPG’s stretch film. Using the Integrated Recycling product and technology IPG has converted one way wooden pallets, particularly for export or to deliver agricultural film, to IR’s recycled post consumer plastic eliminating the need for excess timber pallets and cardboard.

Integrated Recycling’s variety of posts / bollards etc. can also be used for artistic projects and purposes or as decorative landscape elements within gardens, parklands, schools, wetlands or walkways, or almost anywhere.
IR is contributing to the saving of forests by providing a range of products more suited to its task than timber. IR has growing interest from groups specifically wanting ‘green’ products for a variety of uses. The big plus is that IR products are made from recycled products, which, at the end of its long life can be recycled again. The appeal of Integrated Recycling plastic products is not only environmental, but also practical. IR's recycled plastic products are good for many years because they don’t rot or splinter or attract pests, such as termites — all shortcomings of traditional timber products. Since 2008, Mildura Landfill has accepted a total of 4.82 tonnes of expanded polystyrene, which has been sent to Integrated Recycling for reprocessing. IR believes its recycling of plastics and polystyrene will save up to 400 tonnes of landfill during the current financial year. This process has an endless life cycle, as once it has been reprocessed it can be recycled over and again into various products.

IR's extremely safe and durable posts, planks and decking boards can be customised and applied for use in playground forts, structures, ladders, sandpits and bridges for example. We also manufacture finished goods such as rope ladders.
IR's enduring products have the advantage of being splinter, pest and rot free - all ideal qualities for childrens' use.
