DuraTrack Railway Sleepers

MTM, Richmond Station VIC

200 Duratrack® sleepers have been installed at Richmond station in inner Melbourne as part of the Andrews Labor Government’s war on waste. The 18-month trial commenced in November 2019 and was widely covered by media.

7News: “This is one of the busiest stations on MTM’s network. So it will be good test to see how these sleepers stand up.” Jerome Weimar CEO Public Transport Victoria.  “For every kilometre of track laid, 64 tonnes of plastic waste is recycled and saved from landfill.” Lily D’Ambrosio Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change.
